Veterans and Veteran’s Families~~Tell the VA to Employ Licensed NDs~~
The VA does not employ licensed naturopathic physicians. If they did, veterans would be able to be seen by highly trained doctors who are skilled in using non-invasive, non-toxic, non-addictive approaches to treat chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and other conditions. Read More
~~Urge Your Representative to Support a Medicare Study of Naturopathic Care~~
AANP has an initiative underway to prompt Medicare to study the health benefits – and cost effectiveness – of naturopathic care for seniors.
Please ask your Representative to sign a letter now circulating in the House that would prompt Medicare to do so. This would be a ‘win/win’ – for patients as well as taxpayers!

Year of the Fire Monkey
Feb 8, 2016 — Jan 27, 2017
Hold on to your hats because Monday February 8, 2016 starts the year of the Fire Monkey! According to the Chinese calendar, the Fire Monkey year symbolizes:
In the traditional five-element philosophy, fire energy is filled with movement, restlessness and activity. If you’ve been contemplating making big changes in your life, this is the year to do it! However, it is very important to think through ideas before taking action. Impulsiveness needs to be channeled correctly to avoid reckless behavior. The desire to shake things up, create change, and forge a new path must be balanced with planning and calculated risk taking to avoid regrettable mistakes.
The fire monkey is the most active and aggressive of the monkey symbols so maintaining BALANCE is always more challenging in fire monkey years. When out of balance, the natural competitive energy can become overbearing and destructive. Emotions can run amok and relationships can lead to heartbreak.
Taking care of our HEALTH involves taking good care of our HEART to avoid “Heart Fire” a Chinese Medicine diagnosis of excess. Anxiety, depression, poor sleep, poor relationships, insecurity, blood circulation disorders, hot flashes, neck and shoulder pain, and sexual dysfunction are all indications that one’s Heart Fire is out of balance.
ACUPUNCTURE is a great way to gently shift and balance energy, soothe heart fire, improve mood and sleep and create a joyful Year of the Fire Monkey.
Happy Healthy Chinese New Year!
